| Wow, can't believe it's been 6 months (almost to the day...creepy) since I last posted. SO much has happened since then. I have been subbing in Springfield since February but just recently finished that up as we will be moving to Columbus in July. It's so crazy, we've been talking about moving and looking at apartments for literally a year now and it seems like something has always been keeping us here. Well, this time it seems God is finally giving us the green light and we found a wonderful apartment in the Hilliard area that is exactly what we were looking for for exactly the right price. I also have several opportunities opening up in the Columbus area, the one I'm most excited about being a long-term sub job in elementary strings. Nothing permanent I'm sad to say, there just isn't anything out there right now, but this could open a lot more doors. Matt is just finishing his first year at OSU and is now halfway complete with his Masters. He was granted an associateship for the fall which he is very excited about and is also doing some copyist/arranging work with Gettymusic, how about that! I'm so proud of him . And what's even more amazing is he's survived a year of marriage with me alongside all of this other stuff! June 14 it will officially be one year, I cannot believe this year has completely flown by. I remember the time of waiting for the wedding and it seemed like we were engaged for forever and now it feels like it's only been a few weeks. I spent the day at his grandparents' house doing laundry and they were just so cute and I just smiled and thought to myself how I hoped we would be just as cute and just as in love 50+ years from now. Anyhoo, so summer is off to a KICKING start and we are really excited about what's going on and where God is taking us and what new adventures He has in store for us. How's everyone else doing these days??? | | |
| I know I haven't posted on here in awile, but that certainly doesn't mean I haven't been keeping up with the posts of all my friends out there. Looking at the year in review, as is so easy to do at the start of a new one, God as so blessed me in so many ways. I can see how much I have grown as a person, as a woman, as a musician, and now as a wife. I have officially obtained a college degree, a Bachelor of Music Education from Cedarville University, and although that came close to the end of the year, it is just as much appreciated and such a freeing feeling to be fully done with my undergraduate education. I've been married now for almost seven months....SEVEN MONTHS!!! That's too crazy, it feels like no time has gone by at all. And yet, Matt and I both agree that we are much more in love now, and more everyday, than when we first got married. Christmas was certainly a bit different this year. So many family functions to get to and having it just be the two of us alone Christmas morning was a little weird. Weird but great lol. Yesterday I submitted an application to Springfield City Schools for a substitute teaching position. Please pray that the Lord will provide the work I need to be able to have a stable income when the time comes for Matt and I to move out of the house God as blessed us with and find a home closer to Columbus where Matt is going for his Masters at OSU. There have been so many little blessings, in addition to the big ones. Blessings of friends and encouragement, blessings of beautiful music composed by my wonderfully talented husband as well as others, blessings of family and how wonderful it is for us to both have such godly families. Yes, 2008 was a pretty good year, and I have very high hopes for 2009. I pray that we will stand firm for what we believe in, hold fast to the truth of the Gospel, love deeply, and carry on courageously. May God richly bless each of you as we embark into this new year. | | |
| Hello to all! As many of you will know, on June 14 of this year I became Mrs. Matthew Davis! This is a very exciting time and we appreciate all the prayers and support that many of you have given. I would like to take this opportunity to notify all of you about my change of e-mail address from eyanega12000@hotmail.com to elisajdavis@gmail.com. If you wish to be removed from my contact list or have another e-mail address that you would prefer I use, please let me know and I will edit that immediately. I have also included a link to a video of the entire wedding for any of you who were unable to attend but would like to see the ceremony. Some of you I haven't chatted with for some time, so please drop a note and let me know how you're doing! Thanks, and I hope you're all having a great summer! Love, Elisa Davis http://pks.edgeboss.net/wmedia/pks/yanega_wedding.wvx | | |
| I'M GETTING MARRIED IN 3 DAYS!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHH!!! I'm really very excited, and we're almost done with everything we have to do. My house is papered with all the post-its I keep leaving for myself with to-do lists! It's almost here! Who knew that 14 months would fly by so quickly? It seemed like so long ago that Matt proposed and now here we are, just 3 short days away from the start of our life together. We've come so far, and it's almost the end of our engagement! So ahrd to believe but oh so exciting....I can't wait! Definitely posting pictures after, no worries =). Now I just have to relax and enjoy my last few days as Elisa Yanega.....now that's a crazy thought.... | | |
| Tomorrow morning if you wake up and the sun does not appear I will be here If in the dark, we lose sight of love Hold my hand, and have no fear 'Cause I will be here
I will be here When you feel like being quiet When you need to speak your mind I will listen And I will be here When the laughter turns to cryin' Through the winning, losing and trying We'll be together I will be here
Tomorrow morning, if you wake up And the future is unclear I will be here Just as sure as seasons were made for change Our lifetimes were made for these years So I will be here
I will be here And you can cry on my shoulder When the mirror tells us we're older I will hold you And I will be here To watch you grow in beauty And tell you all the things you are to me I will be here
I will be true to the promise I have made To you and to the One who gave you to me
Tomorrow morning, if you wake up And the sun does not appear I will be here Oh, I will be here.
